Law Firm's Founding Partners Apply Practical Business Principles to Their Own Firm and Clients' Enterprises

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA - May 23, 2012

In response to accelerating client focus on attorneys who think and act like entrepreneurs and business people, four leading area lawyers today announced the launch of Royer Cooper Cohen Braunfeld LLC (RCCB), effective June 1, 2012.  The firm, led by founders John E. Royer, Jr., Neil A. Cooper, Barry L. Cohen and Roger J. Braunfeld, is dedicated to providing clients with what they increasingly demand in today's market – value-added, results-oriented, creative and sophisticated solutions for emerging growth and middle market enterprises and the people who lead them, at fees that make sense.

Led by a diverse and noted group of accomplished attorneys, RCCB is grounded in ideals of integrity, practical business judgment and entrepreneurial spirit.  With varied backgrounds as practitioners in large firms, founders of boutique firms, general counsels of technology companies, and entrepreneurs, the firm's principals leverage their business acumen for the benefit of their clients.  The founders include two of the three co-founders and co-managing partners of SorinRoyerCooper, named Emerging Growth Law Firm of the Year – USA in 2011 by Lawyer Monthly magazine.

"We are delighted to announce the launch of RCCB and very excited to continue serving our clients in the region, across the nation and abroad," said John Royer, co-founder. "RCCB provides the compelling value proposition of legal services delivered practically, efficiently and effectively by experienced practitioners," added Royer.

John Royer is a principal of the firm and brings nearly 25 years of business and corporate law experience to his clients, for whom he frequently serves as outside general counsel.  John focuses his practice primarily on business and corporate law transactions and counseling for emerging growth and middle market technology and life science companies and investors.  John began his career with Pepper Hamilton LLP and served as the co-chair of Saul Ewing LLP's technology, emerging company and venture capital practice group, as well as serving as general counsel for two technology companies in between.

Neil Cooper is a principal of the firm and focuses his practice primarily on business and corporate law matters, effectively serving as outside general counsel to many of his clients in the technology and emerging growth spaces.  Neil has practiced for 17 years, with a wide range of experience, including beginning his career at Morgan Lewis, serving as General Counsel of EXE Technologies, a Nasdaq listed, public software company, and previously founding his own law firm. Neil was named to the Philadelphia SmartCEO Legal Elite list in 2010.

Barry Cohen is a principal of the firm and is widely recognized as a leading commercial and intellectual property litigator, with a practice increasingly national in scope, concentrating in the areas of business and intellectual property litigation, including employment law and trade secret cases.  In 2009 - 2012, Barry was selected by Law and Politics as one of Pennsylvania's SUPER LAWYERS and in 2012 was listed as a Top 100 Attorney in Pennsylvania.  His recognized expertise has been tapped by CNBC, which has called upon him several times to serve as a commentator on current legal issues.

Roger Braunfeld is a principal of the firm and combines business and corporate law experience for his clients, focusing on financing and development strategies and transactions for emerging growth companies and the investors who support them.  Roger was recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal as one of the "40 Under 40", voted in the MS Leadership Class, and designated a Pennsylvania Rising Star Attorney multiple times early in his law career.

The firm launches with nine attorneys licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland and Massachusetts.  Additional information about Royer Cooper Cohen Braunfeld will be available at
