Douglas Panzer

Biography

Douglas Panzer brings extensive experience in intellectual property litigation, counseling, portfolio management, prosecution, and transactions. He partners with clients to develop, protect, and enforce their IP rights—guiding them from early strategic planning through high-stakes litigation.

Doug has litigated across all areas of intellectual property, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets. His work spans a wide range of industries and technologies, such as microprocessors, pharmaceuticals, RFID tolling systems, financial instruments, consumer products, and personal care items.

In addition to his litigation practice, Doug devotes a significant portion of his work to trademark strategy and portfolio management. He oversees the registration and protection of clients' trademark portfolios in approximately 50 countries, working with a global network of foreign associates. He represents clients before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board in opposition and cancellation proceedings.

Doug regularly advises on IP transactions, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating licensing and commercialization agreements—representing both licensors and licensees, buyers and sellers.

As a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Doug also counsels clients on patent procurement and trade secret protection. His recent work includes technologies in robotics and active shooter security systems.
